My office is happy to assist North Dakotans with any problems or concerns they may have with a federal agency. Some examples of casework include problems receiving Social Security checks or proper compensation from the Veterans Administration for a medical claim.

Can Congressman Pomeroy Help Me with My Situation?

If you have a question or problem with a federal agency, I'm here to help. Before you contact my office for assistance with a case, it is a good idea to determine if your problem is one which I have the authority and jurisdiction to examine:

  • I may be able to help you if your problem is with a federal agency. A federal agency, as the term implies, is an organization that is part of the federal government. These agencies are either part of the President's cabinet, like the Veteran's Administration (VA), or independent agencies like the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). While I cannot ask a federal agency to do anything which they are unable to do under law or regulations, I can make sure that all of your rights are respected and that any errors in procedure are corrected.
  • Unfortunately, I cannot generally offer assistance if your matter does not involve a federal agency, including those involving North Dakota state agencies. Examples of such situations include: child support disputes, motor vehicle registration concerns, or state tax disputes. For help with these problems, you should contact the Governor's Office or the appropriate state agency
